MCWD names McCleaster new Chief of Recreation

NEW PHILADELPHIA, Ohio - Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District has named Ryan McCleaster its new Chief of Recreation, following a nationwide search.

The MCWED announced the hiring in a press release on Monday.

McCleaster, who most recently worked for the Township of Upper St. Clair (Pittsburgh, PA) as Assistant Director of Recreation - Facilities and Operations, has worked in the Parks and Recreation/Sports Management fields for over 20 years.

McCleaster was recognized by Pennsylvania Recreation and Park Society (PRPS) with the Outstanding New Professional Award for his contributions, leadership, and commitment in the parks and recreation field.

“We are pleased to welcome Ryan to MWCD as our new Chief of Recreation,’’ said Executive Director, Craig Butler. “His education and background in the recreation industry, plus his childhood connections to MWCD, and growing up in Northeast Ohio makes him a perfect fit for our organization.”

McCleaster earned a Master's degree in Instructional Leadership with an emphasis in Sports Management from Robert Morris University.
