New Philadelphia, Ohio - Tuscarawas County Public Library officials are announcing a four-week closure of their Main Library in New Philadelphia.
Director Michelle McMorrow Ramsell says the library will be closed starting May 6th as crews begin on the next phase of an ongoing renovation and expansion project (which includes parking lot upgrades and improvements).
"The next phase of the project will involve updating the parking lot and cement work to allow customers to utilize the new services available with the addition, like the drive-up window and book return," she says.
Ramsell says they will have a temporary drop box set up in the Jim's Place parking lot for people to return their materials. She says patrons can reserve items online for pickup at Jim's Place or any of the library system's branch location. She says their goal is to have drive-up services available at the main library in late May with the building reopening in early June but with limited access in some areas.
]"The upstairs and meeting room will be closed to the public, but our new expanded ground floor lobby will be set up with selections of the latest movies, music, as well as adult and teen books to browse and check out. Our children's department will be open as usual throughout the summer."
The entire project is expected to wrap by the end of the year. For more information and updates on the renovations, visit www.tusclibrary.org
