Fresno, Ohio (WJER) - Alligator, bison, turtle and kangaroo will all be on the menu this weekend at the Chili Crossroads Bible Church.

The church’s annual Wild Game Dinner and Atomic Wing Contest will have two seatings at noon and 5pm on Saturday. Pastor Neal Dearyan says people come from all over the state to enjoy the exotic menu.

“Some of folks are trying to check some these items off their bucket lists, like the kangaroo is kind of a novelty,” he says.

A premiere ticket adds beef tenderloin, jumbo coconut shrimp and kangaroo to the menu. Homemade pizza, a chili cook-off, desserts and a silent auction are also on the agenda. Dearyan says proceeds will help children with dyslexia learn to read.

“Our program turns struggling readers into thriving readers, and it is astounding to see that happen. It’s just so much fun,” he says.

Tickets are only available in advance by visiting the Chili Crossroads Bible Church website (www.chilibiblechurch.org) or by calling 740-545-9707.
