DOVER - The Tuscarawas Valley Civil War Roundtable will meet on Thursday, February 13 at 7:00 PM in the Community Room of the Dover Public Library. The featured presenter will be living historian Chris Hart who will present, "Mr. Lincoln's Whitehouse."

~It is the turn of century, 1900 to be exact, and President William McKinley has invited the late President Lincoln's secretary, George Nicolay to the White House for a visit. Join George as he recalls life at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave during the Lincoln years, remembering everything from Inauguration Day to Mrs. Lincoln's spending to the tragedy of Willie's & Abraham's death and everything in between.  It is a rare chance for Nicolay to be very candid and he does exactly that.~

The mission of the Tuscarawas Valley Civil War Roundtable is to educate the community about the American Civil War, preserve Civil War heritage and to remember those who struggled for their cause.

"Ever since Appomattox, historians, military tacticians, and amateur scholars have been fascinated by the Civil War," says Jim Gill, library director. "We invite the community to our monthly meetings. Each month a different speaker will provide an engaging and informative look at a particular aspect of the War Between the States."
