NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) - The Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County will present seven shows in its 2019-2020 season featuring characters familiar to a wide-ranging audience.
Marketing Chair Alison Morris recently helped announce the new season:
“‘The Uninvited’ opens August 15th; ‘Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery’ opens October 4th; ‘Junie B in Jingle Bells, Batman Smells’ opens December 5th; ‘Legally Blonde: The Musical’ opens February 7th, ‘The Diary of Anne Frank’ opens April 17th; Disney’s ‘The Little Mermaid’ opens July 10th; and ‘Almost Maine’ opens August 20th”
Morris says the titles include many recognizable names such as Sherlock Holmes, Anne Frank, and The Little Mermaid.
“I think that’ll be nice to bring in people that maybe haven’t been to the theatre before and have always been, ‘Hey I want to go see a show but I don’t really know what to see,’ and so they have a lot of different options here to see tons of fun and interesting and moving pieces,” she says.
Morris says people can buy tickets for individual shows or the whole season by calling the Kent State Performing Arts Center, or at the door the night of the show at the Little Theatre on Carrie Avenue NW In New Philadelphia.
Meanwhile, before the next season begins, the current season concludes with “Mama Mia,” which opens next week.
