Mineral City, Ohio (WJER) - Drivers might want to watch out for volunteers along state Route 800 just south of Mineral City on Saturday morning.

Huff Run Watershed Restoration Partnership Coordinator Marissa Lautzenheiser says they will have volunteers out starting at 9 am to pick up litter to prevent it from entering local waterways.

“We do this about two to four times a year, so we have removed I would easily say hundreds if not over a thousand pounds of litter from our watershed just by participating over the last decade,” she says.

Also on Saturday, Dover Chemical is hosting a free event with Go Shred, where people can drop off paper products to have them shredded for free from 10 to noon. There’s a two-box limit, and it’s for area residents only, no businesses.
