Tuscarawas County, Ohio - The Tuscarawas County Public Library System wants to know "What's in Your Attic?"

Now through December 1, the library system will be seeking original county library artifacts including photos, library cards, and book checkout cards.

Items can be from any of the library system's five locations, including the Main Library in New Philadelphia, Bolivar, Strasburg, Sugarcreek, and Tuscarawas branches, or its bookmobile.

Public Relations Associate Megan Kovalaske-Grimm says the library is particularly interested in photographs from the Main Library from its inception through its renovation in 1989 as well as old library cards.

"With the upcoming renovation of our Main Library, we are eager to find pieces of our library history that we do not have in our collection," she says.

The library is currently planning a $5.2 million renovation of its Main Library in New Philadelphia. Proposed improvements include a new, drive-up window, three-bay garage, and 52-seat meeting room, along with new furnishings and technology updates. Construction is expected to begin this fall.

Kovalaske-Grimm says the items collected will be used in a wall display in the renovated library.
