New Philadelphia, Ohio - One of Rodgers and Hammerstein's timeless classics is coming to the stage at the Performing Arts Center.

The PAC will present the Tony Award-winning musical "The King and I" on April 17th beginning at 7:30 pm.

Set in 1860’s Bangkok, "The King and I" tells the story of the unconventional and tempestuous relationship that develops between the King of Siam and Anna Leonowens, a British schoolteacher whom the modernist King, in an imperialistic world, brings to Siam to teach his many wives and children. The show boasts a score that features beloved classics including “Getting To Know You,” “I Whistle a Happy Tune,” “Hello Young Lovers,” “Shall We Dance” and “Something Wonderful.”

Tickets start at $55 and are on sale now at the Performing Arts Center box office, by calling 330-308-6400 or online at www.kent.edu/tusc/pac. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm and on Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm.
