New Philadelphia, Ohio - The Kent State University at Tuscarawas Band and Choir will present a holiday concert titled "Tis the Season," at the Performing Arts Center on Thursday, December 13th, beginning at 7 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for the concert that's open to the public and free of charge.

University Band Director James Graves says the Kent State Tuscarawas Band has experienced significant growth over the last three years.

"Our ensemble now includes over 50 instrumentalists who are Kent State Tuscarawas students, community members and talented high school musicians,” he says. “I am excited as I watch our members cultivate their passion for music as we rehearse, practice and perform together."

While University Band is a one-credit-hour course offered for students, participation is also open to community members. For the upcoming spring 2019 semester, the band will rehearse on Thursdays beginning January 17th from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center.
