NEW PHILADELPHIA - Kent State University Women’s Center selected Cherie Bronkar as one of their 2020 Mothers, Mentors, and Muses. Bronkar serves KSU Tuscarawas as library director and student government advisor and also handles public relations.

Mothers, Mentors, and Muses is the Women’s Center's signature event. It recognizes Kent State University female-identifying faculty or staff who make a significant difference in the life of a student or colleague. More than 400 women across the university have received this honor.

Bronkar is recognized as being significantly instrumental in the lives of students and colleagues and as someone who exemplifies the role of mother, mentor and/or muse. The Mothers, Mentors and Muses Scholarship Fundraiser Reception will take place at Kent State in April. Bronkar was nominated by Maria Feik, Kent State Tuscarawas Makerspace equipment laboratory technician.

The Women’s Center defines Mother as one who has helped “birth” ideas, thoughts and academic endeavors in others, or who serves as a nurturing individual to others; Mentor as one who serves as a trusted counselor, colleague and/or role model; and Muse as one who inspires creativity and artistic/academic passion in others.
