DOVER (WJER) - The Dover Historical Society has the J.E. Reeves Home and Museum all set up for the holidays.

Christmas season tours started there this week. Social Media Coordinator Kami Stanley says all 17 rooms have been decorated by staff and volunteers.

“What’s incredible is the house is decorated differently every year so the decorations are never the name. I know many locals will be happy to hear that our large Christmas tree is back in the ballroom. That has been removed for the last couple of years so we could have some dancing up there but that is back this year,” she says.

Stanley says visitors can check it out during the one hour guided tours through the home and Carriage House Museum.

“Well, the guide will take you room through room and just give you a little bit of history about the family and things the family would have done in those rooms, and then there’s always time for the guest to ask any questions that they have,” she says.

The museum is open from 1 to 7 pm daily. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children 6 to 18 and free for kids 5 and under.
