Tuscarawas County, Ohio (WJER) - The 7th District Congressional race didn’t turn out to be so close after all.

Republican Congressman Bob Gibbs easily coasted to victory for his 5th term, getting about 59-percent of the vote against Democrat Ken Harbaugh.

Gibbs says he’s honored to have the opportunity to represent the district for two more years and still has a lot of work to do. His priority list includes cutting taxes for the middle class and securing the US-Mexico border.

“We have to deal with these caravans and all the illegal activity coming across the border, drug activity, illegal aliens and human trafficking and all that,” he says.
