UHRICHSVILLE - Claymont voters are getting a chance to hear from the people seeking election to the board of education.

The Claymont Education Association (CEA) and Ohio Association of Public School Employees (OAPSE) Local 390 are sponsoring a School Board Meet-the-Candidate forum this Thursday from 6:30 to 8 pm at Claymont Middle School, located at 215 East Sixth St. CEA Vice-President Veronica Cottrell says it's an opportunity for the community and their members to learn about the candidates' goals and interests and ask them questions.

“This year’s School Board Elections are a very important issue on the November ballot. The candidates are diverse in both professional and educational experience and we are extremely interested in hearing from all of the candidates,” she says. “This educational forum will be designed to not only have the candidates share their views about public education, but also give education employees, parents and citizens the opportunity to submit potential questions to be asked of the candidates.”

Melinda Grant, Steve Miles, Kenny Trimmer and Michelle Wolf are running for two open school board seats. All four have been indicted to attend the forum, which will be moderated by WTUZ news anchor Mary McClintock.
