TUSCARAWAS COUNTY - One man was killed in a single vehicle traffic crash yesterday morning on SR 212 near milepost 13.  The New Philadelphia post of the Ohio State Highway patrol is currently investigating says Lt. Mark Glennon.

"We arrived on scene, and a vehicle had gone off the right side of the road and struck three trees. The subject was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene."

Authorities believe speed was a contributing factor in the crash, and a toxicology report is pending.  Glennon says the driver was not wearing his seat belt at the time of the crash.

"As we always say, if people wear their seatbelts, they'll stay in the vehicle, they'll stay in their seats, and they reduce the chance of injury or fatality."

The crash remains under investigation. The victim's name is being withheld until relatives are notified.
