New Philadelphia, Ohio - A musical based on a beloved holiday movie is coming to New Philadelphia.

ELF the Musical makes the first stop on its nationwide tour at the Performing Arts Center on Wednesday, November 7, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The show is based on the popular 2003 film of the same name and tells the tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa’s bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole.

Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy’s enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa’s permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. This modern day Christmas classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner ELF.

Tickets for ELF the Musical start at $55 and are on sale now at the Performing Arts Center box office, by calling 330-308-6400 or online at www.kent.edu/tusc/pac. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The show is part of the Performing Arts Center’s 2018-2019 Season, sponsored by Michael Taylor Insurance and Financial Incorporated, an Allstate Agency.

Kent State Tuscarawas is located at 330 University Dr. N.E. in New Philadelphia.  Free parking is available for all shows.
