DOVER (WJER) - City residents can now log their concerns and requests for city services through the city’s website.

The new 311 email request system is up and running under the quick links on the doverohio.com homepage. Councilman Justin Perkowski says the new system will help people who, in the past, have tried to make requests on Facebook.

“People tend to go on there and post some concerns, and I think this will be a better way for those people to get a hold of the city,” he says.

Perkowski says the new system doesn’t replace existing methods of communication, like calling the appropriate department.

“That’s a direct line to the city, but some people might not be comfortable making a phone call,” he says. “This allows them another way to reach the city to get something taken care of.”

He says people can use the new system to email requests for brush pickup, tree trimming, pothole repair, and other city services.
