Dover, Ohio - The Dover Public Library is looking for volunteers to help deliver books and other materials to patrons unable to visit the library.

The Library is looking for at least two volunteers to help deliver books to local care facilities and homebound patrons. The ideal volunteer will be a passionate reader, a people person, and able to commit to a set volunteering schedule. The position also requires some heavy lifting. Help is needed on Wednesday and Tuesday afternoons from about 1:30 to 4 pm. Volunteers who can only come every other week are welcome.

The Outreach Department delivers books, movies, and more to Dover care facility residents as well as homebound patrons. Outreach Librarian Linda Toohey, Library Assistant Erica Mears, and a team of volunteers make over 175 deliveries a month. They also offer programs at all Dover care facilities as well as the Senior Center.

Volunteer applications are available online on the Dover Public Library's website or at the library, located at 525 N. Walnut St., across from Dover High School. Interested patrons can also call the Library at 330-343-6123 for more information.
