DOVER - Teen Tuesdays are returning to the Dover Public Library to give area students in grades 6 to 12 something fun to do after school.

The free weekly program begins with an Amazing Race event on Tuesday, Sept. 24th, at 3 pm that will have teams of teens racing through the library completing challenges. The race theme is Banned Books, in preparation for Banned Books Week September 22-28.

Teen/Outreach Services Manager Liz Strauss says it's is a yearly censorship awareness campaign that celebrates the right to read.

"Like the American Library Association said, not every book is written for every reader, but who are we to make that decision for the individual?" she asks.

The library will also be setting up displays and offering special activities to mark the weeklong observance.

Teen Tuesdays will continue throughout the fall with programs on popular games and television shows, crafts, music, and much more. The events are free to attend with registration required.
