Dover, Ohio – The Dover Public Library invites teens in grades 6-12 to an after-hours event with elements of an anime convention.

The library's Teen Mini-Con Lock-In is this Friday from 6 to 11 p.m. and features games, crafts, and refreshments. The event is free and open to 24 teens. Registration and a signed permission slip are required. Interested patrons can call 330-343-6123 or stop in at the library for more information, including registration forms and agendas. Information is also available online at www.doverlibrary.org.

Lock-in activities include a cosplay costume contest that invites teens to dress up as their favorite television or movie characters. All costumes must cost $5 or less for the wearer to make or buy. Participation is optional.

A live action role play game will have teens picking characters, teaming up, and finding clues. Each character will have traits and skills that will give them an advantage in the game. Teens playing, meanwhile, will stay in character until the game is complete.

The Mini-Con Lock-In will also feature candy sushi and other refreshments, crafts, and games.

Teen/Outreach Services Manager Liz Strauss says the event will be a great opportunity for teens to relax, have fun, and enjoy their library.

The Dover Public Library is located at 525 North Walnut St., directly across from Dover High School.
