Dover, Ohio (WJER) - The Dover school district has selected its next treasurer.

The board approved a two-year contract for Andrew Bache of Dover during a special meeting Wednesday morning. Superintendent Carla Birney says they feel Bache will bring his expertise in the finance area and fresh ideas to the job.

“Andrew is a Dover graduate. He currently works for Timken. He has a background in finance and business, and he is a great candidate,” she says. “He will be a great new treasurer for the school district.”

Bache will be filling a vacancy left by the resignation of treasurer Marsha Clark at the end of January. Birney says the East Central Ohio Educational Service Center has been providing interim treasurer services since then.

“Matt King from the ESC has been meeting all our financial deadlines and obligations since February 1st, but we are excited for Andrew to begin with us in April and have a treasurer here full time on site,” she says.

Bache is a Dover resident and Dover City Schools graduate. He holds a Bachelors of Business Administration from Kent State University and earned an MBA from Malone University. He was selected from a pool of 16 candidates who applied for the position.
