Medina, Ohio (WJER) - A regional pharmacy chain takeover means customers in Tuscarawas County will have to go elsewhere for their prescriptions.

Ritzman Pharmacy has announced through a press release that it’s selling its 20 locations to CVS pharmacy, which plans to close down all but two of those sites.

The Ritzman pharmacies at Buehler's in Dover and in Sugarcreek are on that list to close although it wasn’t immediately revealed when that could happen or if Buehler’s would bring in another pharmacy. The press release indicates the acquisition should be completed by the end of February. Ritzman says the customer files from those locations will be transferred to nearby CVS pharmacies. The stores in Berlin and Akron will reopen as CVS pharmacies.
