TUSCARAWAS (WJER) - A Tusky woman suffered minor injuries when her car wound up in a flooded area near the intersection of state Route 416 and Myers Hollow Road south of the village around 7:15 Thursday morning.

Troopers say the 21-year-old driver told them she was looking down to change the song on her phone when she went down an embankment off the right side of 416, stuck a culvert and came to a stop in water about 30 feet from the road. The water was up to the car’s mirror, and the driver was able to get out on her own.  She was treated at the scene and cited for a marked lane violation and distracted driving. The car was in the water for about an hour before crews had it out.
