FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 30TH

Journey to Bethlehem @ Walnut Creek - 4 to 9 p.m. 

  • Experience the reason for the season as you journey through Bethlehem on this free self-guided tour that ends with a live nativity scene at The Farm at Walnut Creek. Map pickup and registration are at Walnut Creek Mennonite Church (2619 CR 144, Sugarcreek).

Gnadenhutten Christmas on the Square - 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

  • Enjoy good, old-fashioned holiday fun during this free community event sponsored by the Gnadenhutten Lions Club, Commercial & Savings Bank, and First National Bank of Dennison. Activities planned for the evening include face-painting, pony rides, bounce house, train and wagon rides, ornament-making, and story time at the Library. 

New Philadelphia Christmas Lighting Ceremony - 6 to 9 p.m. 

  • Join the City of New Philadelphia and New Philadelphia Business and Community Association as they light up the city for the holiday season. Enjoy live entertainment, caroling, specials at downtown shops, and complimentary refreshments. Stick around after the ceremony as the Tuscarawas County Commissioners unveil the new courthouse dome lighting.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 1ST

Dover Rotary Breakfast with Santa - 8 to 11 a.m. - @ Dover First United Methodist Church (1725 N Wooster Ave.)

  • Share a table with Santa during the Dover Rotary Club’s holiday breakfast fundraiser. The menu includes pancakes, sausage, juice, milk, coffee, candy canes and more. Staff from the Dover Public Library will provide a craft activity, and children will have a chance to take a photo with Santa. 
  • Cost: $4 (proceeds go to community projects and charities)

Christmas in Zoar @ Historic Zoar Village - 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

  • Enjoy musical entertainment, a juried craft show, tours of the village, horse-drawn wagon rides, meet-and-greets Belsnickel, Santa, and Kristkind, and more. A candlelight church service at the Historic Zoar Meeting House and tree lighting ceremony will cap off the evening. 
  • Cost: $8 per person with free admission for children 12 and under.

Christmas in the Village @ Historic Schoenbrunn Village - 1 to 4 p.m. 

  • Bring the entire family for an afternoon of traditional Moravian festivities celebrating the Christmas season. Enjoy carol sing-alongs, candle wrapping, scripture readings, Moravian treats and sweets, and home crafts.
  • Cost: $7 for adults, $5 for seniors 60 and over, $4 for children 6-17, free for children 5 and under.  

Celebrate the Season @ Norma Johnson Center - 3 to 5 p.m.

  • Stop by the Red Pole Barn at the end of Conservation Drive for an afternoon full of free crafts, visits with Santa, refreshments and a petting zoo. Stick around for the luminary walk through the woods from 5 to 7.

Light Up Sugarcreek - 4 to 7 p.m. 

  • Visit downtown Sugarcreek for an evening of free, family-friendly holiday fun including sleigh rides, visits with Santa and holiday crafts as the town prepares to flip the switch on thousands of Christmas lights.

Christmas in Zoar @ Historic Zoar Village - Noon to 5 p.m. 

  • Enjoy musical entertainment, a juried craft show, tours of the village, horse-drawn wagon rides, meet-and-greets Belsnickel, Santa, and Kristkind, and more. 
  • Cost: $8 per person with free admission for children 12 and under.

The Nutcracker Candlelight Tours - 5 to 7 p.m. @ Reeves Home & Carriage House Museum (325 E. Iron Ave)

  • Join dancers from Tuscarawas Dance Arts Center as they perform select pieces in the Ballroom and Carriage House. Tour the home at your leisure while visiting with guests and performers throughout the home.
  • Cost: $8

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7TH

New Philadelphia Christmas Parade - 6:30 p.m. 

  • Lineup is from 3:30  to 6 p.m. at Tuscora Park along Al Maloney Drive. The parade leaves the park along North Broadway travels through downtown and ends at the Tuscarawas County Public Library for refreshments, games, and photos with Santa.

SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8TH

Midvale Christmas Parade - 1 p.m. 

  • Lineup begins at noon at Midvale Elementary. Post-parade refreshments will be available inside the school. 

City of Dover Annual Christmas Parade and Lighting Ceremony - 5 p.m. 

  • Registration and lineup is from 1:30 to 4:45 p.m. at the intersection of Crater and East Seventh Street, in front of Crater Stadium. The parade travels along Betscher Avenue and East Third Street and ends at the intersection of East Second Street and Wooster Avenue. 

Christmas in the Village @ Strasburg - 5 to 7 p.m.

  • Visit with Santa at the Strasburg Fire Station and stop by St. John’s UCC to check out the live nativity. Both locations will have refreshments to enjoy. 

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 16TH

McInturf Realty Christmas in the Park @ Tuscora Park - 4 to 8 p.m.

  • Join McInturf Realty for their 22nd Annual Christmas in the Park. This free family event features carriage and train rides, live nativity scene, petting zoo, ice sculptors, strolling costumed characters, photo ops with Santa, and much more. 

ONGOING EVENTS

Christmas Wonderland on Olde Main Street @ Newcomerstown Historical Society (213 West Canal St.)

  • Come by and see the beautifully decorated trees and wreaths that are also available to purchase. Visitors will also have an opportunity to enter a door prize drawing for the chance to win a decorated tree.
