DOVER - The Tuscarawas Valley Civil War Round Table is announcing its fall schedule of free community programs exploring various aspects of the war between the states.

Programs are held on the second Thursday of each month at 7pm in the Dover Public Library's Community Room. Upcoming dates and topics include:

  • September 12th: General Robert E. Lee, as portrayed by Ed Beers
  • October 10th: The Monitor vs. The Merrimack, presented by William Vodrey
  • November 14th: General George Armstrong Custer, as portrayed by Rick Williams
  • December 12th: Annual Steve Long Civil War Trivia Night

"Ever since Appomattox, historians, military tacticians and amateur scholars have been fascinated by the Civil War," says co-organizer Mike DiDonato. "We want the public to know they are welcome to free our programs. Each month a different speaker will provide an engaging and informative look at a particular aspect of the Civil War."
