NEW PHILADELPHIA (WJER) - A local church is putting on a concert to raise awareness and funds for a local charity.

Schoenbrunn Moravian Church is holding its “Concert That Cares” Thursday at 7 pm. Pastor Ben Lippert says it’s featuring New Philadelphia high school and middle school students who are performing for a freewill donation to support the Noah’s Hope Child Advocacy Center. The concert involves some church members and their friends like Keira Rossi and Charlotte Menapace, along with Rylie Steele.

“So Charlotte and Kiera are more instrumental and more guitar-like so you’re gonna get a combination of some things. You’re gonna get to listen to some great instrumentals from the kids and some great vocals, and these kids do not disappoint. They are fantastic musicians,” he says.

Lippert says after church members cleaned up outside the CAC in September for their day of mission, they wanted to do more for the center.

“Certainly, you don’t want any kids to have to use that building but the kids that do, they are so cared for, and we wanted to let them know that just down the street at Schoenbrunn Moravian Church we have people who are looking for the opportunity to care for them,” he says.

Lippert says they will also be accepting donations of coloring books, toys and other things to go to the kids at the child advocacy center.
