New Philadelphia, Ohio (WJER) - A Christmas celebration put on by McInturf Realty is back for its 22nd year at Tuscora Park.

Christmas in the Park is this Sunday from 4 to 8 pm with all the familiar favorites including a live nativity scene, carriage rides around the park, live indoor and outdoor entertainment, dollar hot dogs, free refreshments and more.

Jan McInturf says the list of attractions for people to enjoy goes on.

“We have our standard ice sculptors. That’s at the front of the park… We have four blocks of ice on a big stage all lit up so, so they’ll be carving some Christmas creations,” he said. “Of course, Santa is sparing the reindeer for one night. We’ll have live reindeer displayed. We’ll have balloon sculpting, pictures with Santa inside the pavilion, which is heated and it’ll be a little bit warmer there.”

McInturf says the event has become a tradition for many people in the area.

“When we started this, we had no idea where it would go. The hope was that it would become something special to people, and there’s no doubt it has,” he says. “We have people plan Christmas get-togethers before Christmas in the Park with planning to end their event at the park, which is something specials.”

The rides will also be open during the celebration, and Spongebob will be walking around to greet and take pictures with the kids.
