An award-winning musical celebrating the life and music of songstress Carole King is coming to the stage at the Performing Arts Center. (Kent State University at Tuscarawas Performing Arts Center)

NEW PHILADELPHIA - The national tour of an award-winning Broadway musical on the life and music of a legendary songstress who wrote the soundtrack for a generation is coming to Tuscarawas County.

BEAUTIFUL – The Carole King Musical will take the stage at the Performing Arts Center in New Philadelphia October 8th at 7:30 p.m. The show tells the inspiring true story of King’s remarkable rise to stardom, from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers and best friends Cynthia Weil and Barry Mann, to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history. 

Featuring a stunning array of beloved songs including “I Feel The Earth Move,” “One Fine Day,” “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” “You’ve Got A Friend” and the title song, BEAUTIFUL has achieved two 2014 Tony Awards and the 2015 Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album. The show is currently playing to sold-out crowds at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on Broadway.
