NEW PHILADELPHIA - Buckeye Career Center will again be opening its doors to prospective students, current students, family members, alumni, past staff, and community members.

BCC's fall Open House is Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 pm to showcase the career center's high school and adult education offerings. Visitors will have the chance to tour the building and learn about the more than 30 high school programs being offered in the 2020-2021 school year, including a new high school Utility Lineworker program. Adult Education staff will also have information available for those considering enrolling in one of BCC's full-time programs or part-time courses.

Superintendent Bob Alsept refers to Buckeye as a melting pot for Tuscarawas, Carroll, and Holmes County students.

“Our students come to learn skills, but leave with solid relationships that will help them throughout their lives. Their efforts have helped transform Buckeye Career Center from a school into a community gem,” he says.

Those attending Thursday's open house will enjoy a complimentary meal. Students applying during their visit and attending alumni will also receive a small gift to take home with them, and those who bring their invitation to the open house will be entered into the door prize drawing.

The Joe Carlisle Marketplace will also be open during the event selling cookies, coffee, flowers, meat, and BCC apparel.

The open house is free and open to the public. Advanced registration is not required but guests are asked to enter at the main entrance and sign-in in the cafeteria. Buckeye Career Center is located at 545 University Drive NE in New Philadelphia.
