New Philadelphia, Ohio - Members of Buckeye Career Center’s Business Professionals of America club have qualified to participate in the organization's state competition on March 14th in Columbus.

Qualifiers from BCC main campus include: Basic Office Systems & Procedures: 1st place - Alaina Thompson (Business & Marketing); Intermediate Word Processing: 1st place - Dani Metz (Business & Marketing/Carrollton); Personal Finance: 1st place - Aden Smith (Business & Marketing); Presentation Management Team: 1st place - Smith, Thompson, Metz, Brian Shurtz (Business & Marketing/Newcomerstown), and Braden Caldwell (Business & Marketing/Conotton Valley); PC Hardware and Troubleshooting: 1st place - Ian Pompey (Computer Technology/Dover), 2nd place: David Crawley (Computer Technology/Dover); Computer Networking: 1st place – Chris Blair (Computer Technology/Strasburg); System Administration with Microsoft: 1st place – Alex Mann (Computer Technology/Claymont); Network Administration with Cisco: 1st place – Marcus Andreas (Computer Technology/Strasburg), Network Design Team: 1st place - Aaron Miller (Computer Technology/New Philadelphia), Nathan Corell (Computer Technology/Claymont), and Michael Koerber (Computer Technology/New Philadelphia).

Qualifiers from the East Holmes Business Academy include: Fundamental Word Processing: 1st place - Eric Yoder; Integrated Office Applications: 1st place - Jessica Montanez; Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications: 1st place - Grace Miller; Administrative Support Team: 1st place - Cheryl Kurtz, Marlene Kurtz, Sara Schlabach, and Kara Troyer; Financial Analyst Team: 1st place - Diane Beachy, Heidi Beachy, and Karen Miller; Small Business Management Team: 1st place -  Josiah Miller, Jay Hershberger, David Mast, and Bryson Troyer; Parliamentary Procedure Team: 1st place - Abe Hershberger, Grace Miller, Kerri Miller, Lorraine Miller, MaryBeth Miller, Eric Yoder,  Joshua Yoder, and Karlin Yoder. 

Qualifiers from BCC’s accounting class at Garaway High School include: Payroll Accounting: 1st place - Eric Gordon and 2nd place - Grace Gingerich; Fundamental Accounting: 4th place - Derick Gillette; Banking and Finance: 2nd place - Erik Miller; Banking and Finance: 1st place – Bethany Rider; and Personal Financial Management: 2nd place - Ian Scott.
