Dover, Ohio (WTUZ) – Detectives are searching for clues surrounding the discovery of a body.

Dover police units were called Wednesday around 5:30 PM to the 800 block of Center Street.

Captain James Stucin explains that the body was found in a wooded area.

“When we arrived, we went to the area the body was located and we contacted our detectives, Ohio BCI, and also our county coroner.”

Evidence was collected and the body was transported to the Stark County coroners office for an autopsy.

“We were unable to determine gender and also unable to determine race. That information is unavailable to us right now.”

Captain Stucin adds that it appears, the body had been at that location for awhile.

No further information is available at this time as detectives conduct their investigation. - Mary Alice Reporting
