Strasburg, Ohio (WTUZ) - A two-day festival begins this Friday featuring live music and a car show.

 

The 37th Annual Strasburg Corn Festival creates a fun, family atmosphere at Franklin Park.

Committee Member Jennifer Mahoney points out the festival started in the 1980’s.

“They were looking for a place to showcase our park, so the festival began and the majority of the proceeds goes back to improve our park.”

Mahoney says to start the event on Friday, Ren will provide music on the gazebo stage at the car show, that has a $10 entry fee, sets up from 5 pm until 9:30 pm.

Contests continue into Saturday at 8 am with a three on three basketball tournament, children’s games at 10:30 am, a corn eating contest at the gazebo at 12:30 pm with registration starting at 11 am, and the evening wraps up with music by Badstone from 8 pm to 11 pm at the beer garden stage.
