CANTON, Ohio - Dover sophomore Lucas Lane took the Division II state championship in the Boys 200-meter freestyle at Friday's swim meet at the C.T. Branin Natatorium in Canton.
Lane clocked in at 1:39.66, setting a personal and school record and eclipsing his previous time of 1:41.47 in last year's state meet.
Lane finished third in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 46.38, while the Dover boys finished seventh overall as a team, with 92 points.
Lane is only the second Dover boy swimmer to win a state championship, with the other being in 2015 by Frannie Brogan in the 100 Breaststroke.
